Biography
Lewis ap John ap Gruffudd, Gent., of Dyffrydan, Merionethshire, was the son of John Nannau alias John ap Gruffudd of Dryffydan and Elsbeth ferch Dafydd Llwyd of Trawvynydd.[1] His date of birth is unknown and is estimated.
Lewis ap John married Ellin ferch Hywel ap Gruffudd.[1] The date and place of their marriage is unknown and is estimated. Lewis and Ellin had two sons:
- Rees ap Lewis, living in 1649, married Catherine ferch Elissa[1]
- Owen ap Lewis, married Mary ferch Tudor Vaughn[1]
Lewis was living on 28 August 1654.[1] His date and place of death are unknown.
