Lewis ap John ap Gruffudd, Gent., of Dyffrydan, Merionethshire, was the son of John Nannau alias John ap Gruffudd of Dryffydan and Elsbeth ferch Dafydd Llwyd of Trawvynydd.[1] His date of birth is unknown and is estimated.

Lewis ap John married Ellin ferch Hywel ap Gruffudd.[1] The date and place of their marriage is unknown and is estimated. Lewis and Ellin had two sons:

Lewis was living on 28 August 1654.[1] His date and place of death are unknown.

"Sion" as the last name at birth (LNAB) should probably be changed (it is one of several variations for John - and he is son of John, so "ap John", as Richardson calls him, would be better).
